Nassau County police have arrested a Freeport woman for driving while intoxicated while her 10-year-old daughter was in the car.

Police say Zaneta Lachapelle was pulled over just after 10 p.m. on Friday near North Grove Street and Lena Avenue. The 43-year-old allegedly showed signs of intoxication and was placed under arrest without incident.

Her daughter was released into the custody of a family friend, according to police.

Lachapelle is charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated, endangering the welfare of a child and vehicle traffic law violations.

She is being arraigned on Saturday at the First District Court in Hempstead.
