A teen was found unresponsive in a backyard pool in Suffolk County Sunday afternoon.
Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau officers were on foot patrol on Fire Island when they heard screams coming from a backyard.
Sergeant Kelly Locascio and Officers Jordan Colon and Tyler Williams rushed to help and found a 19-year-old childcare provider at an Ocean Bay Park home had gone underwater and was unresponsive.
The incident happened on East Bay View Walk around 1p.m., according to police.
The homeowner had gone into the pool and pulled the woman out and began CPR.
Officer Williams took over CPR and the victim eventually regained consciousness after expelling water and then started breathing on her own.
She was taken by boat to Timber Point Marina where Islip Exchange personnel met them and transported her to an area hospital where she is listed in stable condition.
