A school in Nassau County was burglarized on Sunday night.

Police responded to the report of a burglary around 11 p.m. at Chatterton Elementary on Merrick Ave. in Merrick.

An investigation revealed a person had entered the building through an unlocked rear window.

Detectives tell News 12, once inside the school, the person stole 26 Apple iPads before fleeing the scene.

There was also $300 in damage to the window screens where the entry was made, Nassau police say.
