A six-vehicle crash on the Long Island Expressway snarled traffic westbound near Exit 51 on Monday.

Police say the incident was reported around 9:45 a.m. in Dix Hills.

Officers are still trying to determine was caused the collision.

Three people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
