A juvenile riding an electric scooter was hurt in a crash with a truck in Nassau County on Monday morning.

The 17-year-old e-scooter operator was traveling eastbound on Genessee Street in Hicksville when the collision happened around 10 a.m.

According to detectives, the boy failed to stop at a stop sign and hit a Town of Oyster Bay garbage truck that had been driving northbound on Cortland Avenue.

The teen suffered serious injuries at the scene and was transported to a local area hospital where he is in stable condition, Nassau police say.

There were no other injuries as a result of the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
