      A measure to limit gas-powered leaf blowers due to noise was just shot down in the Town of Huntington.
      The resolution sought to create a calendar for when homeowners and landscapers can use leaf blowers in residential areas.
      The gas-powered devices would be banned all summer, from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day.
      The ban would run on Sundays, holidays and the 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. period Monday through Friday.
      Board members who oppose the ban argue that it is too restrictive.
      The board will reconsider the measure in February.
