The streets of Northport Village had lightning, thunder and rivers of water running down the sides Thursday evening due to stormy weather.
People were still out and about despite the rain. Many were seen wading through intersections just to cross the street.
Northport natives say it’s not unusual. Every time it rains, they deal with flooding even if this storm brought the water a little higher than usual.
“Pretty much every time without fail,” said Tripp Schluter, of East Northport. “If there’s a big thunderstorm, this entire road just gets flooded with water, and we have a bridge out over there for people to cross.”
