Nassau police are asking for the public’s help identifying a woman who vandalized a religious statue Thursday at Notre Dame Elementary School in New Hyde Park.

Investigators say the woman entered school grounds on Mayfair Road and defaced the statue of Saint Michael before fleeing the scene on foot around 1:30 p.m.

An image of the statue shows it with two blackened eyes.

Police say the woman was last seen wearing a pink shirt, blue jeans and holding suitcase.
